Georgian Gheorghe, PR & Communication Coordinator at Beautik Haute Parfumerie
1. Where do you go most often when you feel like renewing your wardrobe?
Most often I go to shopping malls and very rarely do I go to concept stores! That is particularly because when it comes to men’s fashion, Romania is slightly deficient with respect to such stores dedicated to men.
2. Each of us has a few favourite beauty products. Which are yours?
A facial mask never killed anyone, a bit of indulging at a massage parlour is always welcome, along with frequent visits to the barber shop and hairstylist! Resting and relaxing for days, to me, is something almost unreal; this is because of my busy schedule and hectic daily life! But I never, not even once, go without a good perfume. I have about 3 or 4 perfumes in particular that have basically entered my DNA and that definitely flow through my veins. My friends often joke and say that when I die, I’ll definitely become mummified, judging by how much perfume I use. Every time I am invited to an event, or if I go to the office or in my spare time, my perfume is always with me! Maison Francis Kurkdjian perfumes forever!
3. Our homes shouldn’t be any less important. Where do you buy the most interesting accessories for your home?
The coolest home accessories, to me, are a clean, tidy home! I’m not a fan of an agglomeration and amalgamation of styles. The apartment where I live is very minimalistic, and I chose it precisely for its simplicity and vibe. But the best investment is a scented candle. It changes everything. From the mood it gives you, from the smell in the room where it’s lit, to adding extra value to a romantic date or a relaxing evening.
4. Is your leisure time dedicated to relaxation or fun? What activities do you choose?
It depends a lot on how demanding the previous week was! But what is certain is that, no matter if I choose relaxation or fun… I always choose to be accompanied by my friends and my close ones. I’m lucky to be surrounded by so many friends. I can say I’m fortune’s darling from this point of view!
5. Speaking of sports and a healthy diet, what rituals do you have, and what are your recommendations for us?
When it comes to this, I think I shouldn’t say anything! It’s the chapter I’m most deficient at. I try and I manage to go to the gym three times a week, without very notable results, but the chaotic pace of my life does not allow me to have a strict and healthy diet. My only ritual is not to get burnt out and to navigate gracefully my entire daily and weekly schedule. I’m a lazy person, and if it was possible to try teleportation experiments or a pill to give you a six-pack, I’d be the first to volunteer.
6. When the time does not allow you to prepare all the good foods you’d like, which are your favourite restaurants?
I have a few apps that I use and abuse “big time”, mainly at the weekend, when I lock myself in the house, I don’t answer the phone, and I don’t get out of bed or from in front of the TV, not even if calamity strikes! During the week, when I’m not eating out, I get struck by my own cooking talent and I pretend I’m a lamer Gordon Ramsay or an undiscovered Jamie Oliver. Of course, I have a few restaurants where I like to go and spend my time with my group of friends. I’m pretty picky when it comes to food, meaning I don’t eat just about anything, but my choices are pretty simple.
7. Gifts always create unforgettable moments. What are the criteria you use when you choose the right gift to make a loved one smile? Which was the latest gift you’ve made?
I often like to make gifts to my friends or, if that’s the case, to my partner. I try and I gracefully succeed to always make original and surprising gifts. I like customised gifts or those with dedication, with a message. A customised fountain pen, tickets to a festival, a city break, an object that the person needs, these are always on my list. What is important is to know your dear ones and listen to their needs. If their birthday isn’t the right opportunity to prove them how much they mean to you, when?
8. Travelling is definitely on the list of everybody’s favourites. Which are the holiday destinations that tempt you?
I want to travel as much as I can, and if I could get paid to do it… I’d love it! I love warm places, and I’ll always choose destinations with sunny beaches, vibrant cities full of history. Cultural exchanges are something that each of us should try. I prefer to “get lost” when I go on holiday. It is a unique feeling, and I often end up in front of a local restaurant, where you’ll definitely come across some world-class cultural heritage. It helps you get rid of the burden and daily routine of an exhausting trip, with a fixed schedule, worse than the five-year plan in the communist era. When I go travelling, I go to feed my soul and enjoy myself. Not to do a marathon between museums and tourist attractions!
My fav is Rome... always and forever.
9. In Romania we have so many beautiful places that can take your breath away. Where do you choose to go when you want to break the daily routine?
To my shame, I’ve visited more cities abroad than I have in Romania. Although I’m saying this, I’m a patriot and I support the promotion of this country’s values of all kinds. But I’ve aimed to travel around the country in the following period, too! But out of all the places that I’ve visited in Romania, I can’t not choose Transalpina and Vama Veche. I love Cluj during the Untold festival, it gives me that one-of-a-kind feeling that you can only find in foreign cities, and it has a unique vibe!
10. Which is the latest wow gadget that left you a pleasant impression?
Of course it could only be a state-of-the-art smartphone. With a super performing camera and an exceptional design. I think I’m a bit narcissistic, too… but that’s not my fault, it’s my momma’s fault! Aside from that, I like to capture all the nice moments in my life! I take pictures of everything… from cute landscapes, daily instastories, to my friends… whom I exasperate, because of course we look like taxidermied animals in some photos. I like to have memories of them from every event, party, gathering, etc. I’m not a photographer and I don’t consider myself one, but I manage to make some really good shootings with some of them! ...
And yes, life isn’t easy… but it should be lived!
