On 20th June, starting from 7 PM, Humanitas Kretzulescu Bookstore (45 Victoriei Avenue) will host the launch of the latest novel “The Only Story” by the British writer Julian Barnes. Among the special guests of the event will be Radu Paraschivescu, the translator of this novel.

Julian Barnes says: “Most of us have one story to tell. That doesn’t mean it’s only one thing that happens in our lives – there are countless happenings that we turn into countless stories. But one thing really matters, only one deserves to be told. What follows is my story. ”

The amazing novel “The Only Story” tells us about Paul’s love story that happened in a summer in the 1960’s, when he had just returned home from college. Wanting to please her mother, he leaves to play tennis where he meets Susan, a beautiful woman, wife and mother of two children. Over a few decades, he looks back at their story, but also at its failure, knowing that our memory both tricks and surprises us.
