“What is a book? A need for solitude of the troubled, curious man, the traits of the militant individual. Before it becomes a philosophical bitterness, a book is a promise, a reason for joy, a journey through souls, thoughts and beauties.” – Tudor Arghezi

Everyone has a special connection with books, and everyone can recognise their immeasurable contribution in any individual’s life, throughout all its stages. To emphasise this inexhaustible source of knowledge, development and relaxation, UNESCO decided, at the General Conference of Paris of 1995, that all reading enthusiasts should officially celebrate books. Thus, starting with that year, we celebrate World Book and Copyright Day on 23 April.

To properly celebrate this day, we propose a list of new books that you can read just the way you like it: in silence, on your sofa, with a cup of tea by your side, or on your way to work, school or any other places.
