We open the world of beautiful art with a first designer presentation. Andra Clițan is the young designer who created the successful brand MA RA MI. She was born in Baia Mare in 1983 and spent her childhood in Maramureș. This is the reason why her collections are inspired by the beauty of the colors and fabrics of the traditional costumes of the place.

Andra Cliţan began his work in the fashion design domain in 2002 when she went to Cluj to study at the University of Arts and Design. Two years later, she went to France at the Ecole Superieure des Arts Decoratifs in Strasbourg and in 2008 she received a scholarship in London at Central St. Martins College of Art and Design. Traveling and meeting different cultures inspired her to create her collections and, at the same time, made her love Maramureş even more. This has been seen over the years in the appreciations she has received.

Annually, she was present at Fashion Week Romania and one of her most important achievements is the participation at the International Fashion Festival in Berlin in January 2013 with an impressive collection inspired by the funeral costume from Maramureș. This is, moreover, the collection made for her Doctoral Degree. In addition to this collection of strong ethnic influences, entitled Sola Scriptura, Andra Cliţan delighted us with My Maramures, The Making of the Self, Mara Mi, Segmentations and many others.

In 2014, Andra launched the brand MA RA MI, with which she wanted to keep and carry on the Romanian traditions that are combined in her collections with the multicultural elements. The MA RA MI collections are special with every story said in an inspired and authentic way. The last collection is suggestively named IDENTITY, and some of its specific items can be found below:
